Scope and Totally Wild are two science education TV programs geared towards school-aged children. They present two excellent ways in which science and the media have joined forces to educate the public. I grew up watching Totally Wild and the idea of being a presenter on the show is fantastic! It's great to know that these forms of media exist to ensure that children are educated about science from an early age, and they are inspired to go on and pursue careers in science.
Work in Science Communication
One career option that I have considered is to do a graduate diploma in communication (science) and work in the field of public education. This would enable to combine my two loves into a dream job - biology and education! I would particularly like to get involved in producing brochures, info centres and factsheets for Australia's National Parks.

I would also consider working for government or private industry as a communications officer to aid in the translation of science to the public and other stakeholders of interest.
